Lysiuchenko M. Linguistic and Cognitive Means Creating an Image of a Female Politician in Modern French Periodicals

This thesis focuses on the study of linguistic and cognitive means which create an image of a female politician in modern French periodicals. The work determines and studies four culturally marked images of female politicians; systemizes the conceptual metaphorical models and conceptual metonymical models on whose basis the female politician’s image have been reconstructed. The most common connotative means of language realization of such culturally marked images have been characterized. The methodology of complex analysis of research of linguistic and cognitive means of reproduction of images of female politicians has been defined. The research presents theoretical grounds of study of an image of a female politician in modern French periodicals’ articles.
