Deviatkina N. Experimental research of phytogenic antiseptic-containing gel as a therapeutic agent in the treatment of inflammatory conditions of oral mucosa

The thesis is devoted to experimental justification of the appropriateness in applying a new domestic multi-purpose oral gel “Rotrin-Denta” designed for the therapy of inflammatory conditions of oral mucosa. The gel “Rotrin-Denta” containing “Rotocan” and Triclosan demonstrates pronounced anti-inflammatory effects in series of modeled acute exudative inflammation. Its anti-inflammatory action exceeds that produced by “Camident-Health” and approaches the therapeutic action produced by “Dicolfenac, 5 %”. The research has shown marked reparative properties of the “Rotrin-Denta” gel, which were justified by increased strength of post-operative scars of linear cut wound on the skin of white rats and stimulating effects on the synthesis of nucleic acids in traumatized skin areas. The “Rotrin-Denta” gel also possesses antimicrobial properties. Therapeutic efficiency of the gel has been proven by modeled pathological conditions (acute traumatic stomatitis and gingivitis), which is due to the effect produced by the medicine on all the pathogenetic links. The study has demonstrated nontoxicity of the “Rotrin-Denta” gel. By LD50 it is classified as a low toxic substance and does not irritate oral mucosa when applied topically. The gel is anallergic as well.
