Consider the features of the management activities of heads of educational institutions, revealed the essence of professionalism, its types and levels of development in psycho-pedagogical literature. Developed and tested model of professionalism of heads of educational institutions, which includes cognitive, motivational and value and operational- technological components. Components of these components have become indicators of professional development. Based on these indicators, a model of professionalism of heads of educational institutions. Diagnosed three levels of professionalism of heads of educational institutions - elementary, middle and high. Disclosed influence of factors such as age, sex and length of management activities of heads of educational institutions to develop their professionalism. Developed and implemented a program of professional development of heads of educational institutions, which is an integral and rational organization collectively developing methods and forms of teaching and focuses on the increase knowledge and development of practical exercises and skills. Established positive development of professionalism of heads of educational institutions. Described quantitative and qualitative changes in the levels of professional development after the implementation of the program. The study is fully completed scientific problem. Overall, the analysis of the results of development of professionalism of heads of educational institutions of the experimental group says it is sufficient (above average) level of professional development, which in turn is an indicator of effective research and experimental work.
