This thesis highlights the paradigm of the main notions in movie translation terminology system, states the basic unit of translation analysis for comedy movies, indicates the peculiarities of comedy movies translation as to its genre stylistic features. The differences in genre stylistic dominant of culture specific comedy movies and black comedy movies in American linguistic and cultural tradition are distinguished. The divergent genre features of comedy movies are revealed in chronotopical, personage, compositional, lexical and semantic contexts. The indicated distinctions in conception of comedy movies and its genre stylistic characteristics in culture specific comedy movies and black comedy movies and moreover in different linguistic and cultural traditions acquire primary significance from translational perspective. Hypothetically the target text (TT) should correspond to genre stylistic stereotypes of the target audience. It has been denoted that at the stage of pre-translation analysis the genre should be identified in terms of not the source, but target linguistic and cultural tradition. The adequate transcoding of invariant genre elements of the source text into east Slavic linguistic and cultural tradition is obligatory and crucial. In order to satisfy the target audience's expectations a translator should undertake translational adaptation that includes transformation / elimination of ST elements or amplification of the needed genre features in the TT. The invariant genre elements of comedy movies that serve for adequate TT are determined in chronotopical, personage, compositional, lexical and semantic contexts. The invariant elements of chronotopical context, which is more relevant to black comedy movies subgenre, are spatial markers (toponyms, toponyms-quaz) and time markers. These lexical units play an important role in representation of the secondary world in movie texts of black comedies and, therefore, need accurate rendering of their meaning. The invariant elements of both culture specific and black comedy movies personage context are speaking names, nicknames, mythological and folklore images. The invariant and distinctive element of compositional context of black comedy movies in American linguistic and cultural tradition is the obligatory presence of a crime. The invariant elements of culture specific comedy movies in lexical and semantic context are as follows: realias, swear words, idioms, slang. The invariant elements of black comedy movies in lexical and semantic context are as follows: realias, realias-quaz, genre marked lexical units. Key words: movie text, speech act, movie translation, genre stylistic dominant, culture specific comedy movie, black comedy movie, chronotopical context, personage context, compositional context, lexical and semantic context.
