Essay

The thesis is devoted to pharmacoepidemiological analysis of antibacterial therapy of community-acquired pneumonia and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in 2007 and 2011 in a comparative perspective. The results of retrospective analysis of pharmacotherapy of 1142 inpatients with community-acquired pneumonia and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease showed a high level of polypragmasia. A low level of augmented aminopenicillines use was noted in both periods. Usage of antibiotics, not recommended by the National Standard, was substantially decreased in 2011, but the prescription of the second-line and reserve preparations was increased. Combinated antibacterial therapy, which mostly compiled with the Standard prevailed, was used for pneumonia treatment, and led to diminishing of the duration of the antibacterial treatment and of hospitalization in 2011. Only 93,5% of patients in 2007 and 95,9% in 2011 received antibiotics for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The clinico-epidemiologic analysis confirmed the need of further optimization of antibiotics usage tactics.
