Object: the process of prevention of child abandonment in professional work of the social teacher of secondary school; goal: to justify theoretically, to develop and experimentally test the effectiveness of the system of prevention of child abandonment in professional work of the social teacher of secondary school; Methods: theoretical analysis, synthesis, systematization and generalization of historical and pedagogical, social, educational, psychological, medical literature, periodicals, legal documents to determine the status of a problem of child abandonment in the scientific literature, the definition of the conceptual apparatus of the study; design and simulation to develop a system for the prevention of child abandonment in secondary school and the characteristics of its components; Empirical: diagnostic (questioning, testing, sociometric method, a generalization of independent characteristics, projective techniques, observation, analysis of school documentation and student creativity, conversation) for ascertaining phase of the experiment; socio-pedagogical experiment, analysis, synthesis, comparison, classification and systematization of experimental data to validate the effectiveness of the implementation of the system of prevention of child abandonment in professional work of the social teacher of secondary school; statistical methods for processing and interpreting the results of socio-pedagogical experiment; branch of science – social pedagogy.
