Essay

The dissertation is devoted to experimental investigation of alfa and delta PKC isozymes role in diabetic vascular endothelium dysfunction and potassium channelopathy and to the efficacy of PKC genes silencing and quercetin-filled liposomes (lipoflavon) treatment on diabetic angiopathy. RNA-interference and lipoflavon appeared to have restoring effect on endothelial function, potassium channels of vascular SMCs function and possess the ability to normalize vascular redox status. This defines lipoflavon treatment and using siRNAs as a good therapeutic tool for pharmacological correction of diabetic vascular complications.
