Object - the process of interaction of "higher pedagogical institution - secondary comprehensive school" in the educational environment of Ukraine in the second half of XX century ; the aim - to systematize the theoretical ideas and generalize the practical experience of organization of interaction of higher pedagogical institutions and secondary comprehensive schools of Ukraine in the second half of XX century in order to determine pedagogically efficient ideas and use them creatively in the present day process of domestic educational system reforming; methods - general scientific, historical-pedagogical, of criteria-complex, prognostic; novelty - the research is the first to provide a comprehensive analysis of the theory and practice of organization of interaction of "higher pedagogical institution - secondary comprehensive school" in the educational environment of Ukraine in the second half of XX century; the scholars' ideas, representing the views of the researchers of the past and modern educationalists, on the unity of pedagogical theory and practice have been analysed, their contribution to the development of the theory of "higher pedagogical institution - secondary comprehensive school" interaction has been determined; the stages in the development of the problem of organization of "higher pedagogical institution - secondary comprehensive school" interaction in the second half of XX century have been substantiated; the practice of organization of "higher pedagogical institution - secondary comprehensive school" interaction has been generalized; the sources providing for the organization of "higher pedagogical institution - secondary comprehensive school" interaction within the educational environment have been specified; the factors ensuring efficient interaction of higher and secondary educational establishments within the educational environment have acquired further study; results - the main ideas and conclusions concerning the organization of "higher pedagogical institution - secondary comprehensive school" interaction in the educational environment of Ukraine in the second half of XX century enrich and widen the scope of pedagogical research. The theoretical ideas and conclusions, the factual data will be valuable for the system of professional and post-diploma pedagogical training, for compiling textbooks and teaching manuals, for the educational process at higher pedagogical institutions in lectures and practical seminars on "Theory of Education", "Didactics", "History of Pedagogy", "Higher Education Pedagogy", teaching courses devoted to the development of higher education, for writing course, diploma, Master degree projects as well as for the organization of out of class activities in secondary comprehensive schools; field - pedagogy.
