Essay

The thesis is devoted to preclinical study of safety and pharmacological properties of zero-valent iron nanoparticles (FeNPs) with the aim of improving the efficacy of medicinal treatment of iron deficiency anemia (IDA). The experimental results that are stated in the thesis confirm antianemic activity of FeNPs at doses of 12 and 1.2 mg/kg/day with the use of both intravenous and oral routes of administration to laboratory animals with alimentary IDA. When administered orally FeNPs possess higher antianemic activity than the reference drug based on ferri (III) hydroxydi polymaltosum complexus. The data obtained shows enhanced antianemic activity and the safety of FeNPs as a promising substance for pharmacological correction of IDA.
