Object - process of the teachers' promotion system in Great Britain (the second half of the 20th - the beginning of the 21st centuries); the aim of the research is to define the theoretical ideas and generalize the experience of the introduction of the teachers' promotion system aimed at the professional self-education in Great Britain in the second half of the 20th - the beginning of the 21st centuries.; the methodology, being used, includes the comparison, generalization, synthesis, classification, historical and structural analysis as well as the chronological, retrospective and comparative analysis; the relevance is included in the contribution of the foreign educators into the analysis of the period under cosidiration concerning the development of the teachers' promotion system; the stages of the formation and development of the teachers' promotion system aimed at the professional self-education in Great Britain in the second half of the 20th - the beginning of the 21st centuries have been theoretically proved. The types of promotion are systematized, classified and defined. The peculiarities of promotion for the beginners and the experienced teachers are defined. There have also been defined the perspectives of the educationally valuable experience of Great Britain in the process of teaching at the modern Ukrainian secondary schools; the results of the research. The main results of the research can be used by the administration of secondary schools in Ukraine in order to practically implement the most effective types, forms, methods of teachers' promotion in secondary school teaching; the main results and conclusions of the research have been implemented into the practice of the high and higher educational establishments; the research results can be useful when developing a number of lectures in the course of Foreign Pedagogy, doing research in Comparative Pedagogy and History of Pedagogy as well as at lectures and seminars; field - pedagogy.
