Object of study: the process of social development. Objective: developing of recommendations for study, formation and implementation of the strategy of social development of Ukraine in the conditions of economic crisis. Methods: abstraction and generalization, structural and functional, induction and deduction, analysis and synthesis, statistical, retrospective analysis, comparative, economic modeling, spreadsheet, graphic. The novelty: for the first time based on a comprehensive study of the problems of social development at the level of the state, society, region, social organizations, for the individual stages of study, development and implementation of the strategy proposed new organizational and economic mechanism of social development in the economic crisis, which corresponds to the actual needs of science and practice of becoming social economy in Ukraine, improved scientific definitions of social development, social security, scientific understanding of the theoretical principles of social development, scientific knowledge about the trends of social development, scientific understanding of the laws of social development, the submission of factors, the nature of the demographic crisis in Ukraine and its connection with the problems of social development, a system of knowledge about the factors and obstacles to the effective implementation of social policies in times of economic crisis, the scientific understanding of the perspective directions of improvement of the mechanism for implementing the strategy of social development in the economic crisis. Scope: in the activities of state and local authorities - while improving the strategic management of social development, the management of social organizations in the process of ensuring the development and realization of human potential, interaction with public authorities on problems of social development, in the educational process in teaching of subjects "Labor Economics and Labor Relations", "Economics", "Social Security", "Regional Economy".
