The aim of the thesis research is to substantiate theoretical and methodological bases of public service professional space's management in Ukraine. The object of the study is the public service as a professional activity. The subject of the research is management of the public service professional space. It has substantiated the structure of the public service professional space. The such subspaces have been defined as components of the public service professional space like: legal; institutional; motivational; space and stratificational; communications and public service culture; different attitudes, orientations and competencies of staff. A set of interrelated criteria of public service professional space development has been elaborated including complexity (multidimensionality) and structuredness; volume; depth; density; dynamics; mutability; procedurality (having the dimension of time); social value (significance). There has been defined the concept of "public service professional space" which is presented as a system of relations between public servants aimed at implementing professional purposes and defined by social parameters and regulatory conditions of a public servant's professional activity. The functions of the professional environment have been determined as: the adaptive function of social integration, informational, motivational and stimulating ones. Theoretical foundations of public service professional space management have been substantiated providing that public service professional space management consists of the basic functions: planning, organizing, motivating and controlling as well as additional ones: communicating (information), developing and decision making (coordination). The management process is cyclic, continuous, persistent and necessary, i.e. one that has all the signs of regularity/
