Essay

The thesis focuses on the research of the linguistic and cognitive characteristics of translation of theological texts for the German-Ukrainian language pair. In the process of the linguistic-translational analysis the terminological problems concerning the reproduction of theological texts in the translation; their genre-discourse characteristics in terms of translatability and the hierarchy of translator's competences were determined; a set of methods for researching the concept system of theological texts was suggested. The conceptual analysis of the source texts and their translations enabled a linguistic-cognitive model of translation of theological texts to be built.
