Object - the development of the musical education in Ukraine in the second half of the XXth century; the aim - to systematize theoretical questions and to generalize the practical experience of the development of the musical education of future teachers on humanitarian faculties of higher pedagogical institutions of Ukraine in the second half of the XXth century for the creative use of positive achievements in modern conditions; methods - system-structural, historical and genetic, general scientific; novelty - for the first time: the integral historical and pedagogical research of the problem of the development of the musical education of the teaching staff in pedagogical institutions of Ukraine in the second half of the XXth century is realized; preconditions for the development of the musical education of future teachers in the stated period are characterized; considering the change of historical and pedagogical conditions in Ukraine, stages of the development of the musical education of future teachers in pedagogical institutions of Ukraine of the stated period are determined and scientifically grounded; the ideas about the contribution of native scientists and pedagogues of the second half of the XXth century to the development of theoretical principles of the studied phenomenon, classroom and extracurricular forms of the musical and aesthetic work with students in higher pedagogical institutions of Ukraine got the further development; results - theoretical propositions and conclusions on the development of the musical education of the teaching staff in the educational process of pedagogical institutes of the stated period outline the opportunities to create the socio-cultural environment, to improve the quality of the artistic-educational process in modern higher educational institutions of Ukraine. The theoretical propositions and the generalized valuable pedagogical experience of the organization of the musical education can be used in the content of courses and special courses "History of Pedagogy", "Theory and Methodology of Musical Education" in higher pedagogical institutions of I-IV levels of the accreditation, at advanced training courses for the teaching staff, at methodological seminars, while the development of special courses on the historical-pedagogical, musical-aesthetic disciplines, while the management of the writing of terms, bachelor and master works; field - education.
