Bashmanivska Y. Human's Loneliness in the Context of Globalization

The dissertation work is devoted to the study of the social and philosophical problems of loneliness in the context of globalization. The main scientific approaches and theoretical interpretation of the phenomenon of loneliness; it has been determined that loneliness in every historical epoch has different appearances and is the result of socio-cultural and spiritual alienation of the individual from society, its focus on the process of selfish way of life and inability of being an activity subject. It has been proved that the state of loneliness is common with the reproductively orientated individual type of character that impelled only by self-interest and a sense of unity is common with the individual character of the productive type of orientation that encourages public interest. It has been proved that the way to overcome loneliness is the process of formation of human’s sense of unity with the environment. In the dissertation work a conceptual analysis of the relationship of loneliness and solitude as the controversial of existentional problems of an individual in the context of globalization has been done; It has been substantiated that loneliness has a destructive effect on a person, and solitary confinement has its constructive influence on person’s self-development. Loneliness is a feeling of existential crisis and may become the basis of committing suicide, but as solitude is the condition of self-knowledge, spiritual development and creative act. It is emphasized that the phenomenon of solitude acquires a special significance in the context of globalization, when an individual needs to be protected from informational overload. Globalization processes significantly complicate the adaptation of modern human in society and, thus, may influence on appearing of his state of loneliness. It has been determined that a human’s escape into a virtual reality is an escape from loneliness illusion. The Identity crisis has been characterized as one of the reasons that causes loneliness. The necessity of formation in the Ukrainian society of some effective institutions of civil society as an instrument to move from monologue to dialogue between different subjects of activity, involvement of citizens in the development process and decision-making in all spheres of public life has been shown. It was determined that the Ukrainians have to find a spiritual unity in three existential national life spheres: "House" – "Field" – "Temple."
