Essay

The study is dedicated to the analysis of the implementation of major aesthetic ideas by French thinker Georges Bataille in the context of his concept of transgressive experience. The paper describes the theoretical generalization and new solution of scientific problems, manifested in the feasibility of the study of theoretical ideas, literary works and literary-critical practices by G. Bataille, containing the basic problems of modern sensual culture: an appeal to the transgressive experience as a specific form of the aesthetic experience historic transformation, reflected in the comic, ugly, formless, violent and "anti-aesthetic". The analysis showed that the concept of transgressive experience, on both theoretical and practical levels, allows us to extend the problematical field of contemporary aesthetics towards interdisciplinary research and review of artistic practices of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, according to their conceptual load, that corresponds to the transgressive ideas by Georges Bataille. It is stated that literary and literary-critical Bataille's oeuvre arranged in connection with his theoretical ideas. This model of interconnection between theoretical and practical levels is indicative of philosophical and aesthetic discourse of the second half of the twentieth and early twenty-first centuries.
