Essay

Dissertation is devoted to the regularities of changes in the structural state, the mechanical properties of steel railway wheels, tires and axles for locomotive wheel pairs, depending on the operating conditions and manufacturing technology. The object of study - the process of formation damage in railway wheels, tires and axles during operation. Research methods - the processes of nucleation centers of destruction was studied using the methods of macro- and microstructural analysis. The mechanical properties of the metal was determined by analysis of load curves, hardness was evaluated by the methods of Brinell, Rockwell, Vickers. Calculations were performed on a mathematical model using the symbolic calculations Maple. The classification of defects arising in railway wheels, tires, axles wheel pairs, depending on the complex influence of the factors of production technology and operating conditions. It is determined that the stress intensity factor for a crack growth area incubation depends on the quantity characterizing the initial process of deformation propagation through the distribution in the steel structure. The models of the processes of wear and the formation of the crest rolled bandages in the operation has allowed to develop the concept of measures to improve operational safety.
