Essay

The object is the organization of educational process in the United States of America; the purpose is to analyze the theoretical concepts and generalize the ways of grading students' assessments in the Humanities in the United States of America universities in order to use pedagogically valuable experience in modern higher educational system in Ukraine; the methodology being used includes general scientific, retrospective and genetic methods of research; the relevance includes the complex analysis of the theory and practice of the ways of grading students' assessments in the Humanities in the United States of America universities in the second half of the 20-th century. The stages are scientifically justified. The main directions in the trends of the ways of grading students' assessments in the Humanities in the United States of America universities in chronological limits under question are defined. The experience of US humanitarian universities concerning the contents, forms and methods of grading students' assessments is generalized. Pedagogical ideas and experience of grading American students' assessments in the Humanities being valuable for modern higher school in Ukraine are outlined. The results are reflected in summarizing the theory and practice of grading students' assessments in the United States of America universities. The main results and conclusions of the research can be used in the development of the syllabus of the training courses, when delivering lectures and having seminars / classes, when writing term papers and master's theses in the Pedagogy of higher education, History of Pedagogy and Comparative Pedagogy, when preparing students' books for classes, readers in Comparative Pedagogy, History of Foreign Pedagogy; the field of research is Pedagogy.
