Essay

The dissertation is dedicated to the developing of conceptual thesis and the systems of economic-mathematical models for the evaluation of food sесurity level in the regions of Ukraine. According to the analysis of scientific works on modelling of food security and taking into consideration the specifics of its assessment on the regional level, it is proposed to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the region's food security in the following areas: analysis of regional features of consumption of basic foods by the population of Ukraine; evaluation of food security level in the regions and determine the factors that influence this level. Research interregional differentiation in terms of consumption of basic foods was conducted and based on the theory of convergence. Detection and analysis of regional features of food consumption in Ukraine were made due to the developed dynamic model of cluster analysis which is based on the combination of the k-means clustering and elements of the theory of fuzzy sets. Generalized indicator of food security level in the region was built according to the procedure of individual rating. Regression models with panel data structure were built in order to determine the factors affecting the food security level in the region. Regression models of binary choice were used for risk assessment of reduction of food security level in the regions of Ukraine Methodical recommendations have been proposed for practical use of the developed system models in decision-making in the fields of food security in the regions of Ukraine.
