Object - labour productivity as a factor in achieving human development; goal - the development of theoretical and methodological foundations of productivity impact on human development and support of scientific and practical recommendations aimed at improving it; methods - scientific abstraction, analysis, synthesis, systematic and synergetic approach, historical and logical, abstract and logical, classification and analytical, statistical, economic and mathematical, comparison and analogy, analysis and synthesis; significant connectivity and interdependence between work productivity and human development was found based on the results of international comparisons and statistical modeling approaches applied; SWOT-analysis of the main determinants of improving work productivity revealed strengths and weaknesses of this process realization in Ukraine, as well as threats and capabilities of its external environment; based on the results of this analysis four main strategies are offered for developing productive work in the context of supporting human development; social and economic mechanism of improving work productivity based on economic, social, innovative and intellectual components and in consideration of economic levels was developed, it takes into account basic factors of competitiveness, efficiency enhancers, development and innovative potential factors and relies on economic, legal and administrative instruments; the results of the research are implemented into an economic practice.
