Essay

A theoretical generalization has been made and new approach to legal education of pedagogical college students has been grounded in the thesis. Actuality of the theme has been proved and its development had been analyzed. The essence of such notions as "legal education", "legal breeding", "legal education of pedagogical college students" has been specified. Legal education of pedagogical college students we interpret as a process of providing a focused, systematic, consistent effect on consciousness, feelings, behavior of students, norms and principles of law, special forms and methods that contribute to the formation of the required and acceptable in society level of legal knowledge, beliefs, values, attitudes; the development of respect to the legislation, the ability to protect one's own rights; skills of lawful behavior that are consistent with the needs and values of the society. We specified the criteria (motivational-value, information-cognitive, active and practical) and indicators of legal education of pedagogical college students. According to the formation of the selected criteria indicators we described levels (low, medium and high) of the legal education of pedagogical colleges students. We diagnosed the legal education of pedagogical college students, which included an analysis of the educational process of pedagogical college in the aspect of legal education and statement experiment conducting. According to the research results, we stated that several factors negatively influenced the process of pedagogical college students' legal education. These factors are: the lack of uniform approach to determining the set of compulsory themes of "Law" studying; insufficient training and methodological providing of this process; insufficient use of innovative technologies and active methods in the process of legal education; insufficient hours volume allocated for the study of legal disciplines. The results of the statement phase of the experimental work confirmed the need for making changes in the process of legal education of pedagogical college students. It needs some corrections of programs, adaptation of forms and methods of educational work. Theoretically grounded and experimentally tested pedagogical conditions of legal education of students in the educational process of pedagogical college: the development content of the legal education of students in the educational process of pedagogical college; stimulating of motivational-value treatment to legal compliance based on the improvement of extracurricular work in the pedagogical college; activation of creative legal activity of pedagogical college students. The first teaching condition was implemented on the basis of such forms and methods as: verbal (lectures of difficult presentation of knowledge, based on individual work of students, with elements of heuristic conversation, a lecture-visualization, a lecture with previously premeditated errors), cognitive-creative (solving of cognitive legal problems exercise, defense of projects, press-conference, part-time travel, "fight" of lawyers, preparation of reports, abstracts of original sources), discussion (problem presentation, workshops, debates, discussions, etc.). Implementation of the second teaching conditions has been ensured by using mass (press-conference with the participation of lawyers, deputies, student conference, jurisprudential activity), group (educational classes, debates, discussions, workshops, round, brain-rings, business games), micro group (work in pairs) and individual (consultations, discussions) forms and methods. The third teaching condition has been implemented through the use of such forms and methods as: figurative (visual examples, facts from the life of famous people or students associated with legal phenomena, artistic works, eyewitness's reports, situation- model, situation-samples); game (plot, business, creative games, travel games, simulation games, quizzes, training); technical (demonstration of video, radio and TV programs, TV shows, films and documentaries); collective and creative (collective and creative business, exhibitions, creative festival, staging stories, lawsuits, legal effects, interpretation, oral magazine, wall newspaper, competition of students' creative works of legal direction), activity (patrolling of the territory, patronage over students, who brake discipline, making reports of legal direction, work in a student club, the legal circle "Young Lawyer" and others).
