The thesis is devoted to the formation of ecological culture in university students of the I-II levels of accreditation of motor transport type. The status of a problem of formation of ecological culture is determined; the specific formation of ecological culture of university students of the I-II levels of accreditation of motor transport type is investigated; the essence of the concepts of "ecological culture", "ecological culture of students of higher educational institutions of the I-II levels of accreditation of motor transport type", "formation of ecological culture of students of higher educational institutions of the I-II levels of accreditation of motor transport type " are defined. We understand ecological culture transformed by the needs, motivations, interests, values, expertise, conviction into the future nature reproductive activities. We consider the concept of "ecological culture of students of higher educational institutions of the I-II levels of accreditation of motor transport type" as integrative quality of the individual, based on ecological knowledge and skills of ecologically safe organization of functioning of the motor transport sector, ecological activities with the use of a set of measures to preserve the environment. The term "formation of ecological culture of students of higher educational institutions of the I-II levels of accreditation of motor transport type" is understood as aimed educational activities, in which there is an active mastering of ecological knowledge of the students, that are transformed into ecological motives and beliefs into nature reproductive activities for the ecologically safe functioning of the transport sector, ecological activities with the use of a set of measures to preserve the nature environment. The criteria of the formation of ecological culture of university students of the I-II levels of accreditation of motor transport type is specified: value-motivational, cognitive-recognizable, active and practical. The indicators of value-motivational criteria defined as follows: ecological thinking, values orientation, the system of relationships, motives and needs, interests, aspirations, commitment to active action, ecological orientation; cognitive and recognizable - knowledge of the nature of ecological education, the peculiarities of ecological activity, norms of ecological expedient behavior, scientific fundamentals of interaction between man and nature, the relevance of ecological knowledge, their understanding and awareness; action-practical - activity, persistence, performance, actions, activities, skills, abilities. Three levels of ecological culture of university students of the I-II levels of accreditation of motor transport type: low, medium and high on defined criteria and indicators were determined Pedagogical conditions of formation of ecological culture of university students of the I-II levels of accreditation of motor transport type were theoretically substantiated and experimentally tested: conscious mastering ecological value orientations and ensuring the effectiveness of nature saving reasons on the basis of subject-subject interaction; enrichment of the students with ecological knowledge with regard to the principles of forming the content of the educational process on the basis of interdisciplinary connections; activation of the students' activity using active methods and organizational forms of educational work.
