Object - human trafficking, which is regarded as socio-demographic and socio-economic context; goal - improvement of theoretical positions, methodological support of the definition of the correlation between human trafficking and other socio-demographic processes, and development of practical recommendations to improve the effectiveness of state policy to combat human trafficking; methods - of abstraction, analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction, comparison, surveys, expert opinions and hierarchy analysis, correlation and regression analysis, synthesis and specification, classification, economic and mathematical; novelty - made grouping the administrative regions of Ukraine in terms of the vulnerability of the population on human trafficking by the method of ranking, in the end all regions of Ukraine are divided into three groups at risk of falling into a situation of trafficking for their population. The theoretical principles of human trafficking are summarized as well as the nature and characteristics of the phenomenon are cleared up in the dissertation. Conceptual apparatus of investigation of human trafficking seen as social and demographic processes is improved. Trends in human trafficking in Ukraine have been analyzed. The dissertation presents an analysis of the evolution of the state policy to combat human trafficking and its institutional support, as well as international experience in this sphere. The dissertation shows close correlation between human trafficking and social economic processes. Consequences of human trafficking have been systematized. Interregional differences of vulnerability of the population towards human trafficking have been studied. Socio-demographic groups with high risk of involvement into a situation of human trafficking are determined. Recommendations for improving state policy for combating human trafficking have been developed and presented; the results of the research are implemented into an economic practice.
