In this dissertation examines the iconography and symbolism of basic iconographic types of the Mother of God in Ukrainian icon painting XI – XXI centuries is considered. Their comparative analysis is made and complemented by famous miraculous icons that were affirmed by the highest ecclesiastical authority.
