The thesis is devoted to inveлstigation of antibacterial properties of novel arylalyphatic aminoalcohol derivatives and their mechanism of action. The data obtained suggest, that arylalyphatic aminoalcohols possess a broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity. In vitro results allowed us to choose 1-[4-(1,1,3,3-tetramethylbutyl)phenoxy]-3-(N-benzylhexametylenimino)-2-propanol chloride (compound KVM-194) for the further studies. Compound showed efficacy on the models of generalized and local bacterial infections as well. The mechanism of KVM-194 antibacterial action is complex, due to the alteration of cytoplasmic membrane, efflux inhibition, and influence on the intracellular processes. Observed properties differentiate arylalyphatic aminoalcohol derivative from the current antibacterials. Distinct bactericidal properties, pH-independent activity and permanent susceptibility of bacteria in the case of prolonged impact reveal the promises of arylalyphatic aminoalcohols for the development of new antimicrobials.
