Dehtiarova Y. Lingual, Cognitive and Narrative Methods of Characters’ Inner Speech Reproduction in French Minimalist Fictional Texts

The thesis focuses on investigating lingual, cognitive and narrative methods of inner speech reproduction in French minimalist fictional texts. The forms of inner speech reproduction such as inner direct speech, free indirect speech, inner reflection, inner monologue and dialogue, stream of consciousness, nonverbal inner speech have been revealed. Strong positions of the texts, synesthesia, figures and tropes of speech, colour visualisation have been presented as lingual and cognitive methods of inner speech reproduction. Narrative methods of inner speech reproduction such as variable focalisation, detailed description, narrative and syntactic methods, position of the narrator have been established.
