Thesis of is devoted to the experimental substantiation of reasonability of the use of silver nanoparticles as antimicrobial agent for treatment of infectious diseases, including antibiotic-resistant ones. Toxicological properties of silver nanoparticles were defined, and there was established that they are non-genotoxic in vitro and in vivo non-mutagenic. Special aspects of acute toxicity of silver nanoparticles under different routes of administration were established, as well as their influence on particular serum biochemical parameters and parameters of heart function and hemodynamics. Silver nanoparticles have been shown to have pronounced antimicrobial activity in vitro and in vivo. Thus, the results experimentally substantiate the presence of acceptable safety profile and pronounced antimicrobial activity.
