Klevanova V. Hypoglycemic and hypolipidemic effect of Poterium sanguisorba L. underground part extract

The dissertation work is concerned with experimental study of hypoglycemic, lipid-lowering and antioxidant properties of Poterium sanguisorba L. underground part extract. Results of the study confirmed hypoglycemic activity of Poterium sanguisorba L. broth and extract that was established as a result of their single administration. Poterium sanguisorba L. broth reverse the formation of insulin resistance and glucose tolerance in experimental models using excessive doses of glucocorticoids and high fat diet. Lipid-lowering and antioxidant properties of Poterium sanguisorba L. extract was found in terms of the twin hyperlipidemia and in vitro experiments, respectively. Application of Poterium sanguisorba L. extract as an antidiabetic agent confirmed improvement in parameters of carbohydrate, lipid metabolism and antioxidant system of animals in terms of fructose-induced and streptozotocin- nicotinamide induced diabetes type 2.
