Object - M. М. Lange's creative legacy; aim - basing on the analysis of M. М. Lange's creative legacy, historical and pedagogical literature, to identify and systematize M. М. Lange's pedagogical views and summarize the aspects and results of his socio-educational activity for the creative use of the scientist's achievements in the modern conditions of the education system reformation; methods - bibliographical-searching, theoretical, chronological-systematic historiographical analysis, synthesis, classification of the published sources on the subject matter, biographical, historical-retrospective, historical and pedagogical, theoretical-generalizing, prognostic; novelty - for the first time the historiography of M. M. Lange's pedagogical personalia has been systematized, the factors that influenced the scientist's pedagogical views and socio-educational position have been revealed, his teaching materials have been classified, M. M. Lange's pedagogical ideas have been systematized, the scientist's socio-educational experience has been generalized, the peculiarities of M. M. Lange's lecturing style and his work as a scientific adviser have been revealed and characterized, possibilities of creative implementation of the scientist's pedagogically valuable ideas and experience in today's educational and upbringing space have been defined; information about the life and work of M. M. Lange as an educator has been specified by means of introducing new archival materials into scientific circulation; the role and place of the scientist in developing the system of pedological knowledge have been defined and clarified; content, forms and methods of M. M. Lange's educational activity in the context of the reformation of higher and female education as well as the analysis and characteristics of the professor's courses in pedagogy have been further developed in the research; results - the materials of the thesis help reconstruct new pages in historical and educational personalistics; materials and conclusions of the research can be used for designing and teaching compulsory and elective courses in pedagogy, history of education, specialized and advanced courses and seminars at higher education establishments and postgraduate education institutions, for writing textbooks, course and Master's papers.
