Essay

On the basis of theoretical analysis of philosophic-politological, sociologic, psychological and pedagogical scientific sources, the content of the notion "civic initiativity" regarding a senior high school student and the essence of the concept "education of civic initiativity of а senior high school student" are specified. The cognitive, emotional-value, and activity-practical components of civic initiativity of the upper-former are determined. Criteria (understanding of the essence of civic initiativity; orientation on active and independent realization of one's own initiatives in different spheres of civic society; self-regulation of civic activity and initiativity) and corresponding indices of senior high school students' civic initiativity are determined. Creative-reflexive (high), active-reproductive (middle), and reproductive-passive (low) levels of formation of civic initiativity are defined. A functional-content model (conceptual-content, process-activity, analytical-result elements) has been developed; pedagogical conditions of educating senior high school students' civic initiativity in out-of-class activity (program-methodic provision of education of upper-formers' civic initiativity in out-of-class activities; pedagogical support of civic initiativity manifestations in senior high school students; contribution to the self-development of civic initiativity by upper-formers) are substantiated. Their efficiency has been experimentally tested.
