Essay

Object: the forming of economic value traits of hull-less barley grain for food (feed) end-use. Aim: establishment of theoretical basis of breeding of hull-less barley varieties for food (feed) end-use. Methods: crossbreed analysis, biochemistry and molecular-genetic analysis, statistical analysis. Novelty: in first time in the Ukraine the complex investigations were carried out; that is conditioned to found of theoretical basis of creature of initial material for breeding of hull-less barley varieties for food (feed) end-use. Results: it was founded that the two-rowed barley morphotypes either hulled or naked have advantages over six-rowed ones in the number of seminal roots as well as some other germinating seed characters. The monomorphism of collection of barley varieties by allele gene state Lox-1 and absence of non-active allele loxA was determined. The samples with potentially medium activity and thermal stability of ?-amylase were selected. It was proved the possibility of overcoming of negative barley influence on the gluten physical properties in wheat+barley flour mixing. On the base of research performed the breeding hull-less barley conception have been formulated. Application stage: 15 hull-less barley samples were submitted into the national genetic bank of Ukraine. Application area: SIE of NAAS of Ukraine, AIC.7452
