Essay

Object - the process of educating in secondary schools in Great Britain (second half of the XX century); the aim is to carry out a integral analysis of the theory and to generalize the experience of organizing human rights education of high school students in the second half of the twentieth century to improve the content of this direction of upbringing in Ukraine; methods - scientific and theoretical; scientific and historical; method of periodization and cause-and-effect analysis; рrognostic; novelty - for the first time: the theory and generalized practice of human rights education of high school students in Great Britain in the second half of the twentieth century have been thoroughly analyzed; scientifically grounded stages the main trends in the organization of human rights education of high school students have been formulated; the possibilities of creative use of the pedagogically valuable ideas and experience of Great Britain on the issues of human rights education of high school students in the Ukrainian secondary education system have been outlined. The essence of human rights education of high school students has been specified; developing the respectful attitude to the laws of the state, the need for their implementation, an active life position, intolerance to violators of law and order, the skills of lawful behavior, the need to protect the rights of his personality, the state. Further development was given to the issues of the formation of human rights education, conditioned by socio-economic, socio-political, organizational and pedagogical factors. Unknown and little-known facts, foreign sources and documents were put into scientific circulation. Research materials can be used by teachers in launching and teaching courses: "Pedagogy", "Comparative Pedagogy", "History of Pedagogy", "Fundamentals of Legal Studies", "Legal Studies", "Civic Education: Legal Studies", special courses of studies and specialized seminars, in improving the qualifications of teaching staff in the system of postgraduate education, as well as teachers in the process of organizing educational work with students in schools; field - pedagogy.
