Heider Y. The reproduction of H. Hesse's author's style in the translations in Ukrainian and Russian languages.

The thesis is devoted to the research of the author's style of the German writer Hermann Hesse and the ways of reproducing the idiostyle features of the works of "eastern cycle" such as "Siddhartha", "Journey to the East" and "The Glass Bead Game" in Ukrainian and Russian translations. The artistic and typological dominants of the writer's idiostyle system are determined. The analysis of translation decisions and choices is presented. The translators appeared to have used certain translation techniques (lexical and semantic substitutions, expansion and omission, parcellation, grammatical substitutions, etc.) and made interference in the original texts, but it did not distort the author's intention. The main types of translation transformations used by translators as well as their consequences are determined. The lack of so-called "Translation series" (in the Ukrainian context) is emphasized. It opens the prospect for further research in the field of fiction translation in general, and translations of the works of Hermann Hesse in particular.
