Essay

The object of the research is the development of valeological education in Ukraine; the subject of the research is peculiarities of the development and formation of the content of valeological education in the South of Ukraine (late XIX - early XX cc.); the aim of the research is to identify and generalize the peculiarities of the development of valeological education (late XIX - early XX cc.) on the basis of historical and pedagogical analysis with taking into account social and economic, political, cultural and educational development of the South of Ukraine and outline the possibilities of creative implementation of historical experience of valeological education in modern educational practice; methods of the research are bibliographic search method, historical retrospective method, method of hermeneutics, systemic-and-structural method, and method of interpretation; the scientific novelty and theoretical significance of the research consists in the following: it is for the first time that by studying little-known sources and scientific literature: the development of valeological education in Southern lands in the late XIX - early XX centuries has been comprehensively investigated in the historical and educational science; peculiarities of the development and formation of the content of valeological education in the South of Ukraine in the specified historical time have been substantiated; the periodization of the development of the valeological education in the specified historical time has been elaborated; forms, methods, means of valeological education in Southern lands (late XIX - early XX cc.) have been revealed; the possibilities of creative application of historical experience of the development of valeological education in modern educational practice have been outlined.
