Essay

The object is the social space of cinema. The goal is to determine the specifics of the cinema's social space in the context of the process of producing the social space of capitalism. Methods of research - historical materialistic analytical approach, comparative-historical method, system approach. Theoretical results and their novelty. It was proved that the social space of cinema reflects the properties of the process of production of the social space of capitalism: concealment, partial self-suppression and substitution. Film screen as a social space is the most developed form of reflection of the relations of attention in a capitalist society. The function of space-representation is to conceal its materiality and materiality of the represented space. The effect of space-representation is achieved at the expense of attracts – techniques of sensory perception organization. The social space of the cinema creates a visually-sensual visibility of the separation of the attention from production necessity or social coercion. The visibility of spontaneous attention, the division of the visible reality from social conditionality, is achieved through the production of naturalness. Hiding the violent way of organizing sensory perception and aesthetization of the crisis of life under capitalism is achieved through the localization of the crisis. The historical-materialist methodology of the analysis of cultural and social phenomena in capitalist society is specified. The practical value of the work: can be used to analyze the social space of cinema and other forms of organization of the social space of capitalism, in which the relations of attention occupy central place. The results of the study can be applied in the practice of teaching socio-philosophical disciplines, in the preparation of training manuals and methodological materials for courses on the theory of visual media, the theory and philosophy of cinema, in solving problems related to the study of attention as a social phenomenon, as well as for the organization of social space of leisure and development of understanding of the social value of cinema in modern Ukraine.
