Essay

In Central and Eastern Europe activities of some artists, institutions, their creativity, which was shown in a form of installations, performances and art actions in the 1970s — the end of the 80s have a lot in common: it was an outbreak against government policy, ways to find methods of expression, make art from scrap materials, focus on ideas, change art forms. The singled out themes and art tools created the basis for the classification of events taking place in contemporary art, including Ukraine and Poland in the process of their collaboration. Numerous artistic exchanges became as the result of these mutual influences, which allowed the author to investigate the described events, the development of installation and performance art on a practical level, via direct participation in festivals, exhibitions, and artistic actions.
