Kosylo K. Pedagogical Ideas and Public-Educational Activity by HryhoriyVretsiona.

The research is devoted to the problem of pedagogical ideas and educational activities of the well-known Ukrainian scientist, educator, publisher, editor, translator, public-cultural figure of Galicia Hrygoriy Zakharovych Vretsiona (1839-1901 ), in which the comprehensive research of the phenomen on of Hrygoriy Vretsiona as a pedagogical personality has for the first time beendis closed; socio-cultural factors of individual and professional formation of H. Vretsiona have been characterized; the periodization of his life has been represented; the scholar's views on the processes of reforming and developing of education in Galicia and the countries of Europe in the second half of the XIX th century have been systematized. The content, directions, achievements of educational-pedagogical, scientific-methodical, editor-publishing and public-cultural activity of the educator have been characterized. According to the results of the research, the possibilities of using the creative heritage of H. Vretsiona in the teaching of educational disciplines of the pedagogical cycle, preparation of teaching-methodical literature, research of the history of education and pedagogy of Ukraine have been substantiated.
