Essay

The dissertation is devoted to forming the sense of civic engagement in the student youth in youth public organizations. Educational, psychological, philosophical, sociological background has been analyzed. Theoretical generalization of scientific views on "citizenship", "civic education", "civil establishment" have been considered. The essence of the concept 'the sense of civic engagement', 'the sense of citizenship', "social activity" has been ascertained. Structural components, criteria as for forming the sense of civic engagement in the student have been defined. The model of the pedagogical system, based on the idea of activation of public organizations, possibility of educational establishments to provide influence on the individual features of the student youth and youth public organizations according to the requirements of the society has been developed. Pedagogical conditions of forming the sense of civic engagement in the student youth in youth public organizations have been determined and grounded. Their effectiveness has been proven experimentally. Experimental model was determined theoretically, proved and tested for the first time in this dissertation. Pedagogical conditions for forming the sense of civic engagement in the student youth in youth public organizations, as a medium of social and community interactions favorable for fostering a sense of citizenship were considered in this paper. During experimental research a systematic informational and educational work was carried out with students concerning forming the sense of civic engagement in them in youth public organizations, developing their sense of citizenship, enhancing scientific and methodological trainings for the teaching staff of higher educational institutions and leaders of the youth organizations. Besides, this research contributed greatly to improving the forms and methods of work of the mentioned staff and youth leaders.
