Object of research - development of the reformed educational movement in Western European pedagogy of the end of the 19th and early 20th centuries; subject of study peculiarities of the development of reformist pedagogy of England at the end of the 19th and early 20th centuries; the purpose of the study - on the basis of historical and pedagogical analysis to identify and generalize the peculiarities of the development of reformist pedagogy of England at the end of the XIX - early XX century as an educational phenomenon; methods of research: historical and logical analysis and systematization of scientific literature, sources (in order to study and generalize the peculiarities of the development of reformal pedagogy in England); historical and structural (to identify the main trends and patterns of development of reform pedagogy); chronological system and problem-searching (for revealing of regularities, causal relationships, the origin of the origin and development of reform pedagogy); diachronic (periodization method) (for studying qualitative changes in the formation and development of reformed pedagogy); problem-genetic, extrapolation, prognostic (with the aim of studying the leading ideas of pedagogical historical experience and possibilities of their use in the modern conditions of Ukraine); the scientific novelty and theoretical significance of the research results is that on the basis of the study of little-known sources and scientific literature for the first time: the peculiarities of the reformed pedagogy of England during the investigated period are determined: (origin and development in the atmosphere of the domination of classical traditional education, the combination of pedocentrism with other theories, the use of pedocentrism only to elementary and secondary schools, the spread of the doctrine of the giftedness of the child at the beginning of the twentieth century; the main task of upbringing is the education of a citizen; the isolation of human freedom as the highest value); forms, methods, means of providing reformatory pedagogy in the studied country are revealed; Developed periodization of the development of reformist pedagogy in England, covering four stages: (stage I - preparatory (XVIII - middle of the XIX century), II stage - the birth of reformist pedagogy (1850 -1870-ies), stage III - a period of accelerated development (1870 - 1910s), stage IV - evolutionary (mid 1910-x -1920's), the influence of the ideas of reformatory pedagogy of England on the development of modern pedagogical science.
