Hojeij I. Communicative Perspective of general questions in Contemporary French Fiction.

This thesis focuses on the study of communicative perspective of general questions of indicative and conditional modal fields of the modern French language in the aspect of semiosis and theory of mental kinetism. The research identifies the status of general questions among other interrogative constructions of contemporary French fiction. A methodology of the complex analysis of the structure, semantics and pragmatics of general questions has been elaborated; the communicative and functional typology of positive and negative proper and improper interrogative utterances of indicative and conditional modal fields has been established; general questions of indicative and conditional modal fields with different contextual values and different levels of speaker's cognitive deficit have been identified; peculiarities of polyphonic configuration of corresponding constructions have been elucidated; the means of realization of objective and subjective modality of general questions have been highlighted and the role of pragmatic operators with different level of illocutionary force in the change of communicative perspective has been defined.
