The structure of musical education in Ukraine in the XVIII century which included higher, secondary and elementary education, is traced, and the contribution of the statesmen, church hierarchy, educators-musicians and composers to the development of amateur and professional musical education of the stated period is described. The dissertation highlights cultural and educational processes on Ukrainian lands of the XVIII century as the prerequisites of the development of national musical education. It is proved that the increasing of the national self-confidence of the Ukrainian people and development of their creative activity in all the spheres assisted to the active formation and foundation of the cultural and spiritual life of the nation. On the thoughtful analyses of the historical, pedagogical and culturological sources division on periods of musical education in the XVIII century in Ukraine was done: the first period – Barocco (the first half of the XVIII century), the second period – Classicism (the second half of the XVIII century); organizational and pedagogical basis and peculiarities of the development of musical education in the educational establishments, churches and monasteries of Ukraine of the stated period were considered and investigated as well. It is stressed that great contribution to the development of amateur and professional musical education in Ukraine in the XVIII century, namely vocal, choral and instrumental performance was made by brotherhood, church-parish and regiment schools, churches and monasteries, collegiums, Kyiv–Mohyla Academy, Hlukhiv school of singing and music and Uniate educational establishments. It is proved that in the middle of the XVIII century in Ukraine one could observe the aspiration to the professionalization of the musical education and great demand of training of highly-educated musical specialists. In secondary educational establishments –Chernihiv, Kharkiv and Pereyaslav collegiums and in higher educational institution – Kyiv–Mohyla Academy, musical aesthetic education of the young people is considered as an integral part of spiritual development of personality. It is clarified that in the XVIII century national music pedagogy turned out to be an independent direction in the cultural and art life of the country, advanced musical and pedagogical thought is being formed. Its creators – outstanding musicians, educators, theorists and composers D. Dyletskyi, M. Berezovskyi, H. Holovnia and S. Byshkovskyi in their musical and theoretical works as «Grammar of music», «ABC and grammar», «Part-singing alphabet» and «Part-singing grammar» systematized main thesis of part-singing in Ukraine, paying much attention to the theoretical developing and grounding of components of polyphonic performance and basics of intensive process of musical education and introduced rather new system of teaching of singing from notes using methods of absolutely communiqué soling. It is stressed that in nowadays conditions of modernization of content, forms and methods of musical education, quite actual is the question of the necessity of usage and implementation of musical and pedagogical experience of the previous century in practical activity of educational establishments of cultural and art direction.
