Object: development of the computer science as a science and academic discipline in Ukraine in the end of XX – beginning of XXI century; purpose: to identify trends of the Genesis of teaching the computer science in secondary schools of Ukraine in the end of XX – beginning of XXI century and to outline the prospects for the development of a school course of computer science in modern conditions of reforming General secondary education; methods: a retrospective systematic structural analysis, synthesis, logical-historical, historical-genetic, comparative, and method of periodization, biography, stages of concern, method of forecasting, the method of theoretical generalization; novelty: comprehensively and systematically reviewed the scientific problem of the Genesis of teaching science in secondary schools of Ukraine (the end of XX – beginning of XXI century); result: characterized by socio-economic, scientific-pedagogical background and basis of inclusion of the course on Informatics and computing machinery in the system of General education; defined and scientifically based periodization of the Genesis of the content of teaching Informatics in secondary schools of Ukraine in the end of XX – beginning of XXI century and criteria of periodization; the further development of the acquired substantiation of organizational forms and methods of teaching students computer science in secondary schools of the study period; determining the prospects of school Informatics in Ukraine; specialization – the general pedagogics and the history of pedagogics.
