Kravchenko O. Pragmacommunicative means of creation of cognitive dissonance in modern French detective novels

The thesis offers a new theoretical and methodological conception on investigating means of creation of cognitive dissonance in modern French detective novels. Verbal (lexical, syntactical, graphic) and nonverbal (kinesics, proxemics, vocalic) means of creation of cognitive dissonance have been classified. Emotional and psychological basis of cognitive dissonance is proved by the author's descriptions of psychophysiological and psychoemotional characters' reactions. Logically informative and emotionally psychological verbal and non-verbal means of neutralization of cognitive dissonance in external characters' speech have been singled out. Cognitive dissonance neutralization in the inner characters' speech is realized in the forms of inner dialogue, inner monologue and replication.
