Essay

The thesis is devoted to the study of anti-inflammatory, antiallergic, immunotropic and antimicrobial activity of the new combined ointment "Allergolic" with dry extract of licorice root, intended for pharmacological correction of allergic dermatitis, including ones complicated by secondary fungal infection. The results of the microbiological investigation confirmed the activity of the active components of the ointment "Allergolic" on cultures that are frequent components of the secondary microbial infection of allergic dermatitis – Candida albicans and Escherichia coli. It has been established that the ointment "Alergolic" has a pronounced anti-inflammatory activity, which is due to its ability to influence on the cyclooxygenase and lipoxygenase pathways of arachidonic acid metabolism during the development of carrageenan and zymosan-induced edemas. The anti-inflammatory effect of the studied ointment exceeds the activity of the reference drug – the ointment "Fladeks", and is realized due to its active ingredients – the extract of licorice root and lavender essential oil. The study of the pharmacological activity of the ointment "Allergolic" on the model of allergic contact dermatitis caused by 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene and non-allergic contact dermatitis caused by terpentine suggests that the studied ointment effectively restores the state of the skin, reduces the severity of dermatitis, general and infectious intoxication of the body, normalizes peripheral blood parameters and functional activity of granulocytic neutrophils, showing a pronounced anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and immunotropic activity, which is confirmed by histomorphological studies. Toxicological studies have proved that the combined ointment "Allegroglik" belongs to Class IV of toxicity, does not show locally irritating, allergic and toxic skin-resorptive action.
