Essay

The object is the peculiarities and regularities of quasicomposites functioning in the language system. Quasicomposites are compound lexemes, which are formed not on the basis of syntactic constructions, but as a result of simulation of word-formation samples that already exist in the language). The purpose is to describe quasicomposites of the Russian language which have another word as a source, not a unit of the word-building language level (sentence or word-combination), defining their typological features, as well as formal and onomasiological models. The methods used in the work are distributional analysis, analysis of vocabulary definitions, onomasiological analysis, transformational and component analysis, method of formalization, descriptive method. The volume of the term "quasi-composite" has been defined and the special method for the determination and analysis of such lexical units has been developed. The paper presents a typology of quasicomposites, among which there are lexemes withaffixoids; words connected with borrowing processes; rhyming compounds, and lexical units built on the basis of adjacent phenomena. The detailed analysis of affixoids and the main typological principles of describing these units of syncretic status have been developed. It is proved that quasicomposites can be classified according to the same principles as the proper compound words, and the detailed analysis of formal models of quasicomposites has been carried out. The mechanisms of creation of occasional quasicomposites used in mass media, and those that become features of an author’s idiostyle are described. The parameters of the onomasiological classification of quasicomposites, carried out on the basis of the determination of the onomasiological basis and onomasiological sign, are described, and the onomasiological models of quasi-compound words are figured out. The field is studying process.
