Borovyk M. Chernihiv State Pedagogical Institute in the system of training of teaching staff (1954 - 1998)

The object of the research: Chernihiv Pedagogical Institute in the system of higher pedagogical education of Ukraine. The purpose of the research: comprehensive coverage of the process of reorganization and functioning of the Chernihiv Pedagogical Institute in the system of higher pedagogical education of Ukraine. The methods: historical, logical, systematization; methods of historiographical analysis, synthesis, system-structural and problem approaches, problem-chronological, historical-situational, comparative, retrospective, biographical, methods of typology, classification, periodization. Scientific novelty: the process of reorganization and functioning of Chernihiv State Pedagogical Institute in the system of higher pedagogical education of Ukraine has been thoroughly investigated for the first time; on the basis of a wide range of sources, great part of which is firstly introduced in the scientific circulation, the reorganization of pedagogical education from the teacher to the pedagogical institute and creation of educational and material base of a higher educational establishment are highlighted; structuring process of CPI has been characterized, which helped to solve teaching and educational tasks; ways of formation of teaching staff and students are determined; organization of teachers’ teaching and methodological work and changes in organization of teaching practice are revealed; the role and place of external control over the organization of educational process and the main directions of scientific work of a higher educational establishment are revealed. Practical value of research: the materials of the dissertation can be used in the preparation of projects for the reform of higher education in Ukraine, for the preparation of generalized works and textbooks on the history of Ukraine, in the preparation of special courses on the history of education, history regional studies and history of pedagogy, and for the preparation of reference and bibliographic publications.
