Chzhou H. The Word “Heart” in Linguistic and Cultural Characteristics

The object is a lexeme “heart” with a complex of all its meanings and semantic connotations, as well as a group of phraseological units of the Russian language with a component “heart”; the aim is to find out the place and role of a word “heart” in the language picture of the world of native speakers of the Russian language with a partial projection on a set of similar functions of a nomen “heart” in the language picture of the world of native speakers of the Chinese language; methods – descriptive, comparative, the method of quantitative calculations, structural and semantic, contextual analysis, the method of the analysis of vocabulary definitions; novelty is the analytical generalization and systematization of the cultural meanings of a word “heart” both in the status of an independent lexical unit and as part of the phraseological units in the language picture of the world of native speakers of the Russian language. In addition, the revealed cultural information is also interpreted in the work from the position of non-native speakers of the Russian language, that is, against the background of the language picture of the world of native speakers of the Chinese language (taking into account significant differences with a similar phenomenon native speakers of the Russian language have), which can also be regarded as an element of scientific novelty of the research; results – the materials can be used in teaching a number of such disciplines of linguistic and interdisciplinary character as “Introduction to linguistics”, “General linguistics”, “Lexicology and phraseology”, “Semasiology”, “Linguistic culturology”, “Introduction to cognitive linguistics”, as well as special courses and special seminars on linguistic culturology, cognitive and linguistic and ethnic linguistic subjects. The results of the research may be useful for students and graduate students while working on master's thesis researches; field – philology.
