Lohinskyi Y. Vasyl Zabashta painting in context of the development of Ukrainian art in the second half of XX – early XXI century.

In the dissertation, for the first time in the Ukrainian art studies, the work of the outstanding Ukrainian painter, national artist of Ukraine Vasyl Ivanovich Zabashta has been thoroughly investigated and systematized, whose creative and pedagogical work covers most of the 20th and the beginning of the 21st century. The artist's multifaceted activity is considered on the background of the main tendencies of development of the Ukrainian art, in its inextricable connection with the West European art. Artwork of the artist is studied in organic unity with his pedagogical experience, as well as socio-political changes in Ukraine, the aggravation of the views of various groups of artists on the question of form, content, style, national sources through the projection of modernism and other trends in the European artistic process.
