Essay

In the dissertation the results of clinical, laboratory and instrumental methods of research of patients with cardiomyopathy of cats are given and the scheme of differential diagnostics and classification of the form of cardiomyopathy in animals of this species in conditions of a megacity has been developed. The course of cardiomyopathy in a domestic cat is predominantly asymptomatic (51.7 %). The main clinical manifestation of cardiomyopathy in a domestic cat is shortness of breath (32.8 %), pulmonary edema (25.9 %) and aortic thromboembolism (5.2 %). Laboratory diagnostic methods (blood tests) in some cases help to establish the etiology of cardiomyopathy in a domestic cat. Investigation of the concentration of troponin I in the blood serum of patients of domestic cats makes it possible to determine the degree of damage to the myocardium, to differentiate the primary or secondary form of cardiomyopathy. Such instrumental diagnostic methods as X-ray and electrocardiography are non-informative for diagnostic confirmation and differentiation of different forms of cardiomyopathy in a domestic cat, but allow to estimate the severityof the course of the disease. True intrauterine method of diagnosis and classification of cardiomyopathies in a domestic cat is the ultrasound examination of the heart (echocardiography), which makes it possible to differentiate the hypertrophic, restrictive, dilatational and intermediate forms of cardiomyopathy.
