Essay

The results of the study workers’ indices of innate and adaptive immunity, antioxidant protection and the state of erythrocytes membranes under conditions of harmful influence industrial silicon dust with fibrogenic effect are presented in dissertation. A comprehensive study of the state of immunological and antioxidant protection indices of healthy workers made it possible to reveal that the direction of shifts depended on the duration of work experience in hazards conditions. This shifts had an adaptive character that, in combination with changes in the permeability of erythrocyte membranes, indicates processes aimed at maintaining the morphological integrality of cells and sufficient stability of POL-AOP system of this group of workers. The nature of violations of the workers’ immunity indexes with ventilation disorders of the lungs depended on the type of such violations. The intensification of functional activity of lymphocytes (by the reaction of the inhibition of lymphocytes migration), accumulation IgM in blood serum and decrease of immunoglobulins coefficient (KGI), increase of the level immune complexes that circulate in the blood, decrease of the system complement activity and imbalance of phagocytic activity were typical for persons with bronchial type of ventilation disorders (BTVD). All this abnormalities may stimulate the intensification of autoimmune processes. A distinctive feature of the immune status of patients with alveolar type of ventilation disorders (ATVD) was a significant increase of antibodies to DNA (DNAf and DNAd). Opposite shifts in the state of pro-oxidant and antioxidant systems of workers with BTVD and ATVD were revealed. The more significant deviations against the group of healthy workers were in persons with BTVD, namely an increase in the intensity of a rapid chemiluminescence under load of Fe2+ and increased levels of MDA, the intensification of antioxidant protection processes: an increase in the values of ChLH2O2r., ChLH2O2 sum. and level of ceruloplasmin in the blood. In persons with RTVD, the direction of shifting LPOs indices was the opposite, meaningful changes were recorded in ChLFe2+sum. Changes in the state of erythrocytes’ membranes were accompanied by a significant increase in ESR and were more significant in people with BTVD. Monitoring indicators of humoral immunity, phagocytosis in combination with indicators of pro-oxidant and antioxidant systems can allow to detect timely the critical duration of contact with the hazardous factors for the workers.
